Welcome to the Cumbria Faculty's blog where you can read all our latest news.

The Faculty recently hosted Chair of council, Professor Helen Stokes-Lampard at a very well attended Branston lecture near Penrith.

Helen spoke passionately on the future of primary care to a diverse audience and was very inspiring.

Recently the board voted on the RCGP's campaign and policy priorities and the newly revamped education committee have been liaising on how best to fill our educational obligations to our members.

We have had some very valuable discussions in these meetings and we would like to thank all those involved for their contributions and input.

We also discussed e-consultations which some rural colleagues have successfully had in place for some time. However, others raised valid concerns. We have contributed our views to the College paper which will inform the Council's strategic direction.

The fellowship committee is currently seeking nominations from members in good standing, of at least five years duration. We are actively seeking to redress the gender imbalance in our current Fellows in the county.

Lastly, if you know someone who you think should be 'FRCGP', please do contact the Faculty Office.
