WESTCARE MEDICAL CENTRE

Westcare Medical Centre is recruiting full-time GPs to join our busy, modern and well established practice. Melton is a growing outer-metropolitan town, situated only 40km from the centre of Melbourne. Our status as a district of workforce shortage is unusual for a practice so close to the city, and allows British doctors with suitable qualifications an exception to the restrictions on provider number eligibility. Our large size provides a supportive environment for GPs to establish themselves in a new system, good potential income from day one, and the flexibility to determine your own working patterns and annual leave. Our exceptional premises (opened in 2007) comprises 24 consulting rooms and a 7-bed treatment/procedure room with full nursing cover. Also on-site are radiology (including USS and CT), pharmacy, pathology laboratory, dentist, physio and optometrist, as well as a cafe. Independently owned and managed, we are committed to the  Provision of high-quality, ethical medical care. We embrace the use of IT, as a paperless practice. We are a training practice (registrars and students), and in-house professional development is a high priority. If you hold both CCST and MRCGP, and are seeking to relocate to Melbourne, please do not hesitate to contact us for more information. Our modern hospital has 24 beds, a four bed maternity ward, and facilities for Surgery, an Accident and Emergency Department and hosts 100 deliveries annually. The Medical Centre currently accommodates six doctors and two full time nurses for triage, as well as visiting specialists and allied health. 5 Fundamental Issues GPs should know about living and working in Australia

The fact that you are reading this means that you are more than likely interested in working and living as a GP in Australia. With a world class health system, high GP earnings, enviable ‘outdoor’ climate and easy going lifestyle, it is hard to resist! However, moving across the world is not a decision to be made lightly, especially if you have a partner and/or children to consider. ! How can you be sure you are receiving fair remuneration? ! Where exactly can you work and live? ! How are your qualifications recognised? ! What are your immigration options? ! What education options are available for your children? Quite frankly, relocating internationally is too big a decision to make without full consideration of all the issues .As specialists in International General Practitioner placement, we are obsessed with making sure, GP’s like you, have all the facts to fully evaluate Australia and Australian GP positions for yourself. With so many different service providers pushing jobs, it is easy to be misinformed or mislead, simply because you do not know the whole picture. For this reason, we have developed a guide: “5 Fundamental Issues GP's should know about Living and Working in Australia”  We would be delighted to email you a copy of the guide. It is completely FREE of charge. Simply email us at infopackage@actualiseaust
