Accreditation of Educational Products
As part of the RCGP Accreditation Strategy the College has
developed a process for accrediting Educational 
Products.
An Educational Product could be a course, a meeting or event as
well as eLearning that may potentially count towards the Continuing
Professional Development (CPD) of a General Practitioner.
Background
With the development of an RCGP CPD
Credits Scheme and the need to support Revalidation it is important
that all RCGP educational products, educational providers and
healthcare providers meet identified and published standards. As a
result, the College has developed a process for Accreditation of
Educational Products.
Launch of the RCGP Accreditation of Educational Products
Process
Following a successful internal pilot
of the Accreditation process it has been expanded to include
externally produced Educational Products. The process will
accredit Educational Products as being ‘RCGP approved’ rather than
allocating Educational Products as being worth a set number of
credits. The College is now accepting applications for
accreditation from providers of educational products – application
forms and guidance documents can be found below.
