QPA - Comments from QPA Practices

Staff at Brinnington Health Centre were in celebration mode when RCGP Chairman Professor Steve Field arrived to present them with the Quality Practice Award (QPA) for excellence in primary care recently. The practice is only the third in Cheshire to receive the award.

Paul Ansbro, Practice Manager at Brinnington Health Centre, said: “The practice found the experience of undertaking the QPA very rewarding and we are extremely proud of our success.  The entire practice and primary healthcare team have worked extremely hard over a number of years to provide an excellent quality of healthcare for the people of Brinnington and this award is a culmination of all that hard work. We're thrilled - the whole process went really well, especially from a clinical perspective”

Professor Field remarked: “I grew up quite close to this area and it’s wonderful to come back and see such a fine example of excellent health care being provided to the local community.  Undertaking the QPA is no mean feat and the staff of Brinnington are to be commended for their outstanding commitment to their patients.  Coming here also gave me the opportunity to take time out for a quick visit to my parents for a cup of tea so everyone’s a winner!”

"Everyone has ownership of their area and has contributed to something in the Practice. The process is not  undertaken lightly escpecially as QPA is the responsibility of the whole team which really helped with teamworking"

  Riverside Practice, Inverness

"It is particularly gratifying that the award reflects on the quality of the staff and the ability to work closely together as a team"
