RCGP Certificate in the Management of Drug Misuse - Part
1
Further Information
Part 1 is ideal for practitioners
working at an advanced service level as part of a shared care
scheme, especially those intending to provide treatment to drug
users as part of a locally or nationally enhanced service
(L/NES).
The Part 1 Course is endorsed by the NTA and is now
multi-disciplinary. Pharmacists, nurses, drug workers and
other healthcare professionals can now complete the
certificate.
In order to complete and receive the Part 1 Certificate
you are required to attend a Face to Face event
and complete the two e-learning modules :
- Harm Reduction
- Treatment Planning
These are accessible on the Doctors.net website at
www.doctors.net.uk/rcgpeducation
It is advisable to do the e-modules before attending the face to
face training day but not mandatory.
Please Note: Completion of the two e-learning
modules and attendance on a Face to Face Training event must be
within an 18 month period in order to qualify for the Part 1

the e-learning modules and attendance on a Face to Face event is
longer than 18 months you will be asked to:
- Resit the e-learning modules if they were completed longer than
18 months before the attendance on a face to face
training event
or

attended an event longer than 18 months before the completion of
