Introductory Certificate in Sexual Health
About the Certificate
The RCGP Sex, Drugs & HIV Task Group, in partnership with
the Medical Foundation for AIDS and Sexual Health (MedFASH), has
developed an Introductory Certificate in Sexual Health. This
provides a basic grounding in sexual health issues for generalist
clinicians and practice nurses working in general practice.
Aims of the Course
• To develop the knowledge, skills and confidence of
generalists in general practice and enable them to practice at the
generalist level in sexual health
• To improve the care of people with sexual health
needs in general practice
• To improve and promote the diagnosis and care of
people with HIV in general practice
How to apply
The certificate consists of an e-learning module (available on
Doctors.net.uk and UKnursing.net) followed by a
one-day face-to-face training module. The cost of the certificate
is £300, inclusive of all materials and certification.
