RCGP resources: knowledge and
information
There a wide range of RCGP knowledge and
information resources already available. EGP is just one of the
many types of support the RCGP provides to help GPs keep up to
date. Most College members are probably not aware of the strength
and range of the information and library resources within the RCGP
from which GPs can obtain knowledge and information about
best practice. The list below summarises some of the RCGP sources
that you can access now or that will soon be available:
1. Knowledge and Information resources – already existing and
being evolved:
Enquiry Service – by phone 0845

of current research in general practice and primary care. Articles
are selected from the core collection of journals held by the
RCGP Library and not all feature in Medline or other
databases. Access to the full-text of each article is offered
through our e-journals portal. Select e-journals portal from
the menu and login as a member. To subscribe please email

Seven Days - Seven Days is a free weekly
electronic bulletin that aims to help RCGP members keep up-to-date
as to professional news, guidance and policy in general practice.

College’s existing Clinical Task Groups and Research areas together
with related work of the Birmingham
Research Unit (BRU) and the National Collaborating Centre for Primary Care
(NCC-PC). The Centre carries out a range of work to
improve clinical standards for the care of patients through
clinical effectiveness, quality improvement and research
initiatives linked to GP education, training and continuing
professional development. CIRC is developing a GP Expert
Reference resource with members from its clinical and research
programmes in the first instance. For information on CIRC contact
