Essential Knowledge Update
Welcome to our first pilot of the Essential
Knowledge Update (EKU) programme. Our first EKU Update
consists of 20 items. Most should be relevant to your
practice – wherever you practise in the UK, whatever stage of your
career you’re at, or if you work as a GP partner/principal or
salaried GP or locum in an inner city or rural practice.
We appreciate you helping us to trial this pilot programme.
Before you start on the 20 EKU Update items, read through the
introduction section. You might want to look at the introductory
section which presents the 20 clinical scenarios and self
assessment questions to test your knowledge of the areas covered in
this EKU Update programme. Then you could focus down on the EKU
Update items where you have the most learning needs if you prefer,
rather than working through the contents of the whole
programme.’
