Activities of the Group
The Patient Partnership Group (PPG) meets four
times a year, and provides patient focused input to a range of the
RCGP's activities.
The PPG has a number of functions. It contributes to College
working parties, documents and official responses to outside
bodies. It initiates debate within the College by raising issues of
concern.
Over the years, the PPG has produced several publications of
interest to patients and general practitioners. Please see
PPG
Publications for the current titles.
There are PPG representatives on most of the working groups
within the College. Lay Members act as lay assessors for Fellowship
by Assessment.
RCGP Annual National Primary Care Conference
Each year the PPG has strong involvement in the RCGP Annual
National Primary Care Conference. At the 2010 Conference held in
Harrogate the PPG hosted a project stand and also led the patient
streams on:
- Using laughter as a consultation aid
- Access to GP services for the sensory impaired
- the Carer experience
Reports from the Conference can be found at:

PPG are currently working on their
involvement at the 2011 Conference which will will be held in
Liverpool.
