RCGP Seeks Nominations for President and College Council

Professor David Haslam will be stepping down as RCGP President in November 2009

The RCGP is now looking for nominations for its next president and six College Council Members for the period 2009-2012.

 

Current President Professor David Haslam will complete his term of office at the Annual General Meeting on Friday 20th November 2009, and nominations are now being sought for the next three years. College Members may propose another for election, and all presidential nominations must be signed by twelve Members in good standing.

 

The AGM will also mark the retirement of six nationally-elected College Council members. Six new Members are therefore being sought to serve on the Council for 2009 - 2012.  Any Fellow or Member of the College may propose another for election to one of the six vacancies.

All nominations must be received by the Returning Officer no later than 31st March 2009.

 

 

Postal Ballot

 

If more than one nomination is received voting papers for a ballot will be sent to Fellows and Members in April. A single transferable vote system will be used for the election. Candidates will be informed of the results in the week before the June Meeting of Council on 13th June 2009.  The result will then be announced at the June Meeting and published in the British Journal of General Practice.
