RCGP Elects New Honorary Secretary and Chair of Trustee

The RCGP has announced the results of two
recent elections for the roles of Honorary Secretary and Chair of
the Trustee Board.
Professor Amanda Howe has been elected as the
College’s Assistant Honorary Secretary and will succeed Dr. Maureen
Baker as the Honorary Secretary when she steps down in November
2009. The result follows a ballot of Council members that was held
between 2nd to 20th March, which included two
other candidates in Dr. Janet Hall and Dr. Steve Mowle.
A second postal ballot held over the same
period saw Professor Mike Pringle appointed as Chair of the newly
established Trustee Board. The other candidate was Dr. Mike
Bewick. Council also approved the following Council members as
members of the Trustee Board: Professor Scott Brown, Professor
Jacky Hayden and Dr Helena McKeown. Arrangements are currently in
hand to identify the Lay members of the Board, with a view to
appointing these positions by end of April.
