Practice Trainers Wanted - GP and Practice Managers
1st December 2009
The RCGP is seeking facilitators (GPs and
Practice Managers) interested in improving practice access and
responding to patient need, to deliver a series of interactive
one-day events to GPs and Practice Managers throughout England.
The aim of the national events is to raise
awareness of and interest in access and responsiveness issues, to
inform practices about available solutions and to encourage
practices to develop and implement their own solutions.
The RCGP is seeking nine facilitators (GPs and
Practice Managers) interested in improving practice access and
responding to patient need, to deliver a series of interactive
one-day events to GPs and Practice Managers throughout England. The
workshops are based on a Department of Health (DH) ‘how-to’ guide
for GP Practices: Improving access, responding to patients
that was circulated to all practices earlier this year. The
DH guide draws together existing good practice from the NHS to
produce a single source document for all GP practices. The guide
contains around 40 different tools and techniques for general
practice to consider, along with information about the benefits,
risks, costs and implementation steps.
To help general practice make the best use of
the guide, the RCGP is working with DH, patients and the BMA to
develop and deliver a series of national workshops for GPs and
Practice Managers. Ten events will be held across England during
February 2010 and it is hoped that each event will attract 100-150
