Survey Launched for Practices - Improving Access, Responding to Patients

15th September 2009

The RCGP and BMA have launched a survey to gauge current levels of access and responsiveness within GP practices.

Aimed at GPs and practice managers, the survey asks for information about plans within practices to improve access and responsiveness, and areas in which additional support would be welcome.

Take the Survey - Improving access, Responding to Patients (will take approx. 5 minutes)

The survey will be used to inform a series of events intended to support practices, and comes in the wake of a ‘how-to’ guide launched on 2nd July 2009. ‘Improving access, responding to patients – a ‘how-to’ guide for practices’  draws together existing good practice from the NHS to produce a single source document for all GP practices.

The guide is structured around 9 areas;

1.       Understanding demand

2.       Managing and meeting demand

3.       The practice environment

4.       Telephony

5.       Patient-focused services

6.       Understanding your community

7.       Communications

8.       Patient engagement

9.       Successful change
