Connecting with the College
Promoting a sense of belonging and appropriate representation
for our First5® members within the
College
Welcome Ceremony
During your first years of membership after qualifying you will
have new ways of connecting with the College. The New Members'
Ceremonies are a chance to celebrate your achievements with
your family and friends. You will receive an invitation to attend a
ceremony within the first 12 months of joining.
Membership Survey
Each year the College ask its Members and Fellows how it is performing. We need to
know if we're supporting you in the ways and areas that you would
like. It's important to take part to shape the future of your
College.
Policy Consultations
The College frequently responds to consultations on policy matters that are
issued by the UK Government, Parliament and others. We welcome
comments from our members to ensure our official responses
represent a broad range of views. Often the deadlines are quite
tight but the officer team relies on your comments and suggestions
to lobby the Government on your behalf.
Representation
Increasingly, the College's committees and boards are seeking
First5™ representation to ensure that the future
workforce is consulted and leading in areas such as clinical innovation and research, in
rural networks,
on the Fellowship Committee and Postgraduate Training Board.
Locally, newly qualified GPs are getting involved on faculty
boards and championing the involvement of their peers.
