Outlined below is the process and
responsibilities of those involved in proposing, supporting and
approving candidates

NOMINATOR
- Member 5 yrs
- 500 word citation
|

- Can be a Member or a Fellow
- Should be in 5 years 'good standing'
- Should complete 500 words summarising their nominee’s
achievements to date

FACULTY
FELLOWSHIP COMMITTEE
- Logs Member as a possible
candidate
- Checks 5 years in good standing
- Checks with GMC/PCO
|
|
- Check the Member is not already being nominated
- This is a chance to flag up any early concerns
- The Provost or Committee Chair will check the PCO
Performers’ List and GMC register
|

|
|
|
NOMINATOR
|
|
- Seconders should remain anonymous to ensure an element of
surprise and thrill on appointment
|
| |
|
|
|
SECONDER
- 400 word supporting statement
|
|
- Seconders should be Faculty Members or Fellows
- Should be 5 years 'in good standing'
- Seconders will need to prepare 400 words supporting the
application

| |
|
|
|
NOMINEE
- 1000 words
- Complaints declaration
|
|
- The Member should prepare a 1000 word statement outlining their
career to date. Nominees may wish to consider the six suggested
achievement categories to provide structure to the statement
- Each nominee should be 5 years 'in good standing'
- If a nominee has any complaints outstanding against them they
should be declared. These will not necessarily be a bar to
Fellowship

FELLOWSHIP COMMITTEE
- Faculty Provost and/or Chair
approves
|
|
- Review the application
- If approved forward to the Fellowship Unit

QUALITY
ASSURANCE PANEL
- Random sampling of recommended
candidates
- All rejected candidates
|
|
- This group is convened as an independent panel prior to
Fellowship Committee meeting
- They are charged with quality control and consistency
review

- Check license and registration status
|
| |
