If you're a GP who has passed the MRCGP or have completed the MAP assessment, you can join as a qualified GP; we'd love to welcome you to the RCGP.

Our Clinical Innovation and Research Centre constantly seeks to develop innovative ways to improve patient care. As a member you can benefit from and shape the focus of this work. You also get the opportunity to influence the GPs of tomorrow by meeting and mentoring medical students and foundation doctors with an interest in general practice.

How to apply for membership
To qualify for membership, you’ll need to have either passed our membership examination, the MRCGP, or MAP, our portfolio-based assessment route.
To apply, simply complete an application form and return to our Membership Services Department (firstname.lastname@example.org). Enclose the correct subscription payment and a photocopy of your JCPTGP/PMETB/GMC certificate of completion of training (or equivalent).
By applying to become a member, you agree to abide by the requirements set out in RCGP’s constitutional documents.
Joining fees for 2016-2017
Fees are based on your gross income for the year 1 April 2015 to 31 March 2016. While renewal will fall on 1 April each year, joining fees are calculated pro-rata for your first year of membership.
How to pay your joining fees
There are a number of discounted rates available to you based on for example income, residency and professional status.
If you are a UK resident you can claim tax relief on your membership fees.
Induction and returner scheme
We are dedicated to supporting those choosing to join or come back to the UK workforce. To demonstrate this we've put in place a new initiative to allow those on relevant induction and returner schemes and programmes access to the many benefits and support provided to RCGP members, by offering one year’s free College membership.
