The RCGP fully supports external course organisers to run these courses across the UK, enabling practitioners to access this vital training locally.
Delivering a local day for the Certificate, instead of attending a RCGP led day, could save you time and expenses.
If you have a minimum of five candidates wanting to gain the certificate, you could deliver this course locally. To run a local day you will need:
- to provide a suitable venue and refreshments. Does your organisation have a suitable venue that you can use?
- an RCGP Approved Trainer to deliver the training. Do you already have a local RCGP Approved Trainer in your Organisation?
- to promote and host the course, and cover associate expenses. We can assist with promoting days via our website
- pay a reduced fee per participant to RCGP to cover the cost of all course materials, and registration for the Certificate.
If you are interested in organising a local event, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Course organisers pay the RCGP a fee per participant, which covers all course materials and certification. The RCGP does not stipulate the attendance fee of local courses.
Cost effective for community organisations
Are you delivering local community based services for substance misuse, Hepatitis B and C or sexual health?
You can train an unlimited number of staff in your organisation (minimum number is five). Courses are designed to engage with all healthcare workers. Appointing approved trainers in your organisation will allow you to continue to train staff and other local services and tailor the local component of the course. Local events are highly regarded for networking opportunities in the region.
SMAH Approved Trainers
Local and RCGP organised training is delivered by approved trainers.
If you are interested in becoming an approved trainer please contact us to discuss the requirements.
