Part One to the RCGP Certificate in the Management of Drug Misuse is ideal for GPs working at a generalist level, as part of a shared care scheme and for those intending to provide treatment to drug users as part of a locally or nationally enhanced service.
It is multi-disciplinary so pharmacists, nurses, drug workers and other healthcare professionals can complete the certificate
Delegates are required to complete the RCGP emodule:
Drugs: Management of Drug Misuse (Level 1)
prior to attending the face to face training day.
The emodule is equivalent to 3 CPD hours.
To Complete the course and receive the ‘Certificate of Completion’ delegates are required to complete the emodule ‘Drugs: Management of Drug Misuse (Level 1) and attend a face to face training day within a 6 month period.
The face to face day consists of presentations by the Clinical Lead GP for a nationally held event or by an RCGP approved trainer at the locally held events. It also includes case studies with discussions in breakout groups on the various subjects within the course. There is a feedback forum in the main arena after each section of the case study.
The course is equivalent to 9 CPD hours.
