Whilst we endeavour to provide a 'gold standard' service to all course participants, if you are registering less than 72 hours before the start of the event, you should be aware that some materials may not be readily available on the day and we may contact you with regards to catering arrangements.

This one day conference will focus on adolescent health and is designed to increase your confidence in meeting the needs of this important, and often side-lined, cohort of patients.  It will be presented by members of the RCGP Adolescent Health Group and will involve young people giving their perspective.

The course will increase your knowledge of adolescent health and give you both ideas to put into practice immediately, and inspiration to implement longer term innovations for quality improvement in this age group.

After considering why adolescent health merits particular consideration, the course will present the latest research on brain development and how this impacts on the consultation, to enable you to provide developmentally appropriate healthcare.

Further sessions will explore various difficult scenarios that can arise with this age group and which can be among the most worrying we face in primary care e.g. self harm, sexual health, safeguarding, confidentiality and the use of technology and social media.  Finally, the concept of transitions will be discussed.  You will learn top tips to make your practice youth friendly.  A number of resources will be highlighted to aid you in both the consultation and to help you optimise care across your practice.

Course feesinclude refreshments and lunch.
