This online course explores important issues in relation to medical records and helps develop skills to improve record keeping and reduce exposure to risk.

A blend of case studies, videos, and interactive activities are used throughout the course to explain risks of poor record keeping and convey the concepts of good record keeping. The course is split into 3 sections:
- The Importance of Medical Records
- The Principles of Good Record Keeping
- Structure and Detail of Clinical Entries

Learning Objectives:
By the end of this course, you should be able to confidently:
- explain why medical records are important
- describe some of the legal, regulatory and contractual requirements regarding record keeping
- identify the principles of good record keeping
- outline the skills needed in making good clinical entries
- assess the quality of your own record keeping
