Building Resilience Reducing Stress

Half day Interactive, lively and fast paced master-class delivered by Carol Barwick, a behaviour specialist. It includes a mixture of facilitator led discussion, group exercises and personal reflections linked to real-life situation. Joint and Soft Tissue Injection training course Janaury 2018

The North and West London Faculty will be running an interactive, theory and practice course covering the assessment, diagnosis, treatment and management of musculoskeletal conditions such as: frozen shoulder, carpal tunnel, tennis/golfer’s elbow, ‘trigger’ finger, De Quervain’s tenosynovitis, rotator cuff tendinopathy, acromioclavicular joint OA, bicipital tendonitis, trochanteric bursitis, aspiration/ injection of the knee joint, Carpometacarpal (CMC) osteoarthritis (OA).

The course prepares those new to these skills to undertake examination and injection, and will deepen and refresh the knowledge and skills of those already performing injections. The course includes Direct Observation of Procedural Skills (DOPS) assessments during practical skills sessions for those wishing to evidence competence in a given procedure.

Learners will view videos, demonstrations and undertake examination and injection using highly detailed and accurate simulated models – overseen by experienced tutors and clinicians. Small group work, question and answer sessions, illustrated presentations and practice sessions enhance the learning opportunities, build confidence and enhance techniques and skills.

Avoid harm and reduce your risk 7 February 2018

Over an interactive morning, delegates will learn more about why claims occur, what features of professional practice can assist in providing a robust defence if appropriate, and explore ways in which known risk can be mitigated. Anonymised case studies will be used to highlight risks and assist delegates in exploring how their own practice can be improved to reduce the risk of patient harm.
