A half day event focussed around the Brain Tumours in Children Toolkit and HeadSmart resources, that are being developed in partnership with Rebecca Chellaswamy, RCGP Clinical Lead for Brain Tumours in Children and funded by the Children’s Brain Tumour Research Centre of the University of Nottingham.
Course Aim: Being part of a team that leads a practice should be fun and exciting or the very least not a heart sink experience. An efficient, well led and managed practice creates the space and time to think and to plan. It minimises crisis management and the stress of continuously having to fire-fight. It will not solve all the problems, sparsity of GPs being one of them, but it will give you a sense of direction and feeling of being in control of events rather than being controlled by them.By understanding the anatomy of a practice (leadership and communications, support and decision making systems) and by discovering ways of streamlining the way in which both internal and external information streams are handled, along with reducing and simplifying the meeting structures can have a massive impact on the way in which a practice operates. Simple changes can dramatically improve the efficiency of a practice whilst counter intuitively reducing the leadership workload. This workshop will aim to achieve this goal.
