Whilst we endeavour to provide a 'gold standard' service to all course participants, if you are registering less than 72 hours before the start of the event, you should be aware that some materials may not be readily available on the day and we may contact you with regards to catering arrangements.

This is an intensive half day update course for all GPs wishing to refresh their knowledge of the 6-8 week baby check.  The course requires all attendees to complete a pre-course e-learning module (35 minutes).

The course is suitable for

All GPs who deliver the child health programme and 6-8 week check in their practices.  All those attending this course ideally should have a basic knowledge of the 6-8 week baby check or currently be performing checks.

This course is not suitable for trainees.

Learning points

By the end of the course attendees will have:

Updated their knowledge of the 6-8 week check and Healthy Child Programme

Considered what may be found at the check and what to do about it.

Considered the clinical governance issues relating to the check using real cases where problems have been missed.

Dr Cliona Ni Bhrolchain

Dr Bhrolchain is a consultant community paediatrician in Wirral.  As a former GP trainee and MRCGP, she has a longstanding practical and

research interest in the interface between GPs and community paediatrics.  Her special clinical interest is in children and young people with visual impairment.
