The College of Medicine and the Social Prescribing Network UK, in collaboration with the Royal College of General Practitioners and NHS England, look forward to welcoming delegates to the first National Social Prescribing Conference for medical students and junior doctors.

This is a one-day conference aimed at medical students and junior doctors from all years of training with an interest in Primary Care, General Practice, Social Prescribing, Lifestyle Medicine, Social Determinants of Health, and Social Care.

The first half of the conference aims to outline the concept of Social Prescribing and its key role in the future of Primary Care within the NHS. The second half is dedicated to exploring General Practice as a career. Throughout the day, delegates will take part in speed mentoring on various topics including Leadership and Management, CV Development, Social Prescribing and Social Determinants of Health, A career in General Practice, and the Academic Foundation Programme.

We will also present our Student Champion of the Year Prize at this event. This is a yearly award given to students who have been part of our National Social Prescribing Student Champion Scheme and who have made a significant contribution towards improving or innovating the scheme. There will also be an opportunity to win prizes by taking part in our exciting Innovation Challenge where groups will present their innovative idea to a jury in Dragon’s Den style!
