The focus of this course is to improve confidence, knowledge and skills of General Practitioners in assessing and diagnosing common musculoskeletal conditions in the primary care setting. This will include common traumatic injuries encountered, both acute and chronic and also common non-trauma related musculoskeletal presentations.

By the end of the course delegates should be able to:

  • Identify common presenting complaints in musculoskeletal assessment
  • Identify key questions in the history to aide rapid diagnosis
  • Target the clinical examination to confirm the diagnosis
  • Identify red flags where appropriate
  • Understand treatment options available to the General Practitioner
  • Rationalise a referral onwards as required
