The RCGP invites you to attend this half day event, looking at improving patient care in Perinatal Mental Health.

Perinatal mental health problems affect up to 20% of women at some point during pregnancy and for the first year after birth, yet only around half of mothers with perinatal depression and anxiety are identified, and even fewer receive adequate treatment. The RCGP’s Clinical Spotlight project has been working with Wessex Strategic Network to ensure GPs in the Wessex Region have access to appropriate training to help them to ensure that women have access to universal high quality mental health care and support in the perinatal period. This event will disseminate the learning from this pilot study and share some key ways in which patient care in PMH can be improved.

The event will also consider how quality improvement methods can be used to implement these changes effectively in your practice.
