Minor Surgery Basic 2 Day Course

This 2 day course is intended for all primary care team members who need a basic course in minor surgery. State of the art models, instruments and simulated tissues will be used to give full ‘hands on’ training as well as theoretical sessions. Topics include: preparation and planning; use of instruments and sterilisation; local anaesthesia; basic surgical technique; excising lipomas and cysts; removing in growing toenails; recognising pigmented lesions and what to do with them; cryosurgery; joint injection techniques using electronic models of shoulder, elbow, wrist and knee; medico-legal issues and administration.
