This event will provide an introduction to the changes coming in response to the National Data Guardian's review of Data Security, Consent and Opt Outs. The RCGP's Patient Data Choices project will launch a toolkit and various resources to support general practice teams to understand what the national data opt out means for them, guidance so that they can confidently and accurately advise patients about their data sharing options and guidance on how to uphold the national data opt out in relation to their own practice.

This is the first in a series of events that aims to bring individuals working in general practice teams together in order to consult on the resources that have been produced, identify gaps in the guidance and for delegates to ask questions about the changes in relation to their own practice. The Patient Data Choices project is funded by NHS Digital and delivered by the RCGP's Clinical Innovation and Research Centre (CIRC).
