Faculty Chairman Dr Stephen Attwood

Stephen Attwood is Professor of Surgery at Durham University, United Kingdom and Chairman of the Oesophageal Section of the British Society of Gastroenterology. He has performed Randomised Clinical Trials in Surgery, specialising in minimal invasive techniques and Gastro-Oesophageal Reflux Disease. His research focusses on Barrett’s Oesophagus and Cancer prevention. He has described the new disease of Eosinophilic Oesophagitis. He has authored clinical guidelines, including those for Oesophageal dilatation, Barrett’s Oesophagus and Eosinophilic Oesophagitis.
