BJGP Research Conference

The BJGP Research Conference is a remarkable opportunity for researchers to present their work in a constructive, peer-reviewed environment, to hear from leading figures in primary care research, and to acquire new skills in writing, appraisal, and presentation. The conference will contain a unique combination of research presentations with moderated feedback, workshops on many aspects of writing and publishing research, and keynote presentations from leaders in the field.

The conference will consist of a mixture of inspirational keynote speeches, parallel sessions in which presenters, chosen on the basis of submitted abstracts, will have the opportunity to present for 15 to 20 minutes, followed by 15 minutes or so of moderated discussion and individualised, bespoke feedback from the moderator, and structured workshops on various aspects of writing for publication, given by Professor Roger Jones, BJGP Editor and others involved in medical publishing.

Why attend?

  • A unique conference offering opportunities for researchers to acquire new skills
  • Meet the editors of the BJGP and BJGP Open
  • Learn more about critical appraisal and peer review

Who should attend?

  • Practising GPs with an interest in developing research skills
  • Early-stage clinical academics in primary care
  • More senior researchers wishing to hone their presentation, writing, and critical appraisal skills

Call for abstracts

The meeting will feature parallel sessions in which presenters, selected on the basis of submitted abstracts, will have the opportunity to present for 15 to 20 minutes, followed by 15 minutes or so of moderated discussion and individualised, bespoke feedback from the session moderators.
