International Travel Scholarships
International Travel Scholarships
(ITS) assist any General Practitioner / Family Doctor in the
world in undertaking the study of an aspect of primary
healthcare in an international context.
ITS
The ITS awards are open to both members and non-members from
inside and outside the UK.
They enable GPs from the UK to undertake international study
of an aspect of primary healthcare that is relevant to their
country's needs. They also assist overseas family doctors to visit
the UK and study an aspect of primary healthcare relevant to
their own country’s needs, or to help develop their own systems of
primary care. The value of each scholarship award normally
ranges from £200 to £1,000.
ITS Awards
As well as the ITS awards, the Katharina Von Kuenssberg and John
J Ferguson awards are made each January and August
respectively for the most outstanding International Travel
Scholarship application submitted.
Closing Dates for Applications
The deadline for ITS applications is the first Friday of
February and September every year. The next closing dates are:
- Friday 3 September 2010 - International Travel
Scholarship and the John J Ferguson Award
- Friday 4 February 2011 - International Travel Scholarship
and the Katharina Von Kuenssberg Award
