International Courses for Teachers of General Practice
RCGP has developed courses for small groups of selected teachers in General Practice from around the world with the objective of:
Developing effective teaching and learning skills;
Encouraging and supporting the structure and management of General Practice Education in differing health care systems;
Establishing core international groups of competent teachers;
Providing academic validation for future educationalists.
The courses present an open, learner-centred model, responsive to the needs of the participants and translatable back to the delegates’ home environment. The course itself is in modular form. - two modules each of one week - but there are four levels of participation:
RCGP Certificate of attendance at the two modules;
Certificate in Postgraduate Medical Education and Professional Training qualifications with course work after the modules; this may lead to
Postgraduate Diploma in Medical Education with course work and written assignment;
Modular progression to Master of Arts degree in Medical Education.
Courses are held in the host countries and content can be tailored to specific requirements.
