International Representation

 
The International Committee represents the interests of general practice through representations to the United Kingdom government, Wonca, the European Commission and to other European and world-wide bodies.

 

Wonca

The World Organisation of Family Doctors aims to improve quality of life through fostering and maintaining standards of general practice. The RCGP is an active member of both Wonca and its European arm, Wonca Europe. Wonca Europe has more than 30 member organisations and represents more than 45,000 family physicians in Europe.

Wonca European Networks

Wonca Europe has five network organisations that aim to uphold the values of Wonca. The RCGP has representatives to most Wonca European Networks and further information can be found on their websites.

 

EURACT

The European Academy for Teachers in General Practice aims to foster and maintain high standards of general practice in Europe through learning and teaching.

EGPRN

The EGPRN, the European General Practice Research Network, aims to help deliver care which is carefully adapted to patients, by carrying out the research that informs that care.

EQUiP

EQUiP, the European Working Group on Quality Assurance in Family Practice aims to stimulate quality development in general practice.

EURIPA

EURIPA, the European Rural and Isolated Practitioners Association was founded by family doctors to address the health needs of rural communities and the professional needs of those serving them.

VdGM

The Vasco da Gama Movement (VdGM) is the Wonca Europe Network for GP trainees and GPs within five years of completion of training. The RCGP's Junior International Committee (JIC) is the UK's network for GP Trainees and First5 GPs.

 

European Union of General Practitioners (UEMO)

The European Union of General Practitioners is the organisation for General Practitioners and Specialists in Family Medicine in Europe.

Standing Committee of European Doctors

The Standing Committee of European Doctors aims to further develop the mobility of professions as well as that of patients.
