Accreditation and Assessment Visits
The RCGP is well-placed to
provide expert advice on accreditation of courses or to provide
assessment visits for training and education programmes. In
addition, the RCGP Membership Examination, including
MRCGP[INT] is highly regarded world-wide as a higher
professional qualification in general practice/family medicine of
excellent standards.
Study Visits
The College welcomes over 100 International visitors to the
College Headquarters in London each year, and can arrange a series
of presentations according to the needs of the visitors. Visits to
practices can also be arranged. As much notice as possible is
requested, so that the precise requirements of the visitors can be
met. Further details can be obtained from our International
Department at the College.
These visits can range from a meeting with a College expert on a
particular theme, to a broader programme of orientation on the
wider issues affecting health service delivery in the UK, with
particular reference to primary health care delivery and the
interface between primary and secondary care. Within longer study
tours we can arrange meetings with various institutions involved in
health care delivery, education and validation and are particularly
keen to stress the role of a college or association in shaping the
development of general practice in a country. Finally, study visits
and tours can offer brief examples of the many courses and seminars
available from College resources.
