International Fellowship by Portfolio
Fellowship by Portfolio is being piloted to
explore how continuing medical education can contribute towards
International Fellowship
The Principles
By using the College's ePortfolio International
Members can demonstrate their continuing medical education (CME)
and professional development. Over a sustained period this could be
used as evidence of eligibility for Fellowship.
An appropriate local colleague will be identified
to look at and validate evidence in a similar way that an appraiser
does in the UK.
The member will also submit a 1000 word statement
outlining their key career achievements to date.
The Process

Candidates for Fellowship must continue to pay membership
subscriptions due 1 April each year
| Update the ePortfolio
learning log over at least a five year period |

Each time learning is undertaken add an entry to the ePortfolio
and reflect on it. It will build up each year and form crucial
evidence of commitment to CME and to upholding the aims of the
College
| Download the ePortfolio contents and prepare a statement |

The candidate should prepare a 1000 word statement explaining
their key careers acheivements to date
| Pass to the chosen local colleague for review |

The contents can be exported easily and shared with
a colleague accompanied by the statement
| Submit to the International Fellowship Committee for
judgment |
The International Committee will consider the application and
if appropriate, recommend the candidate to the Fellowship Committee
of Council.
