Informatics Group, a group which advises the RCGP and other
professional bodies on issues of
information management and technology in general
practice.
- To provide informed and authoritative advice and support to the
RCGP, the College Council and Council Executive Committee (CEC)
within its domain of expertise.
- To help the RCGP develop a clear strategic vision in the field
of information management in health care and its
application to support clinical practice, decision-making and
research.
- To assist the RCGP with implementing appropriate changes to its

The Good Practice Guidelines for GP electronic patient records -
version 4 (2011) ~ These latest
guidelines, issued in March 2011, supersede version
3.1(2005).
Shared Record Professional Guidance
(SRPG)
A project to develop professionally led guidelines that consider
the governance, medico-legal and patient safety consequences of
Shared Electronic Patient Record (SEPR) systems in primary care.

Vision for Patient Focussed Records
The Royal College of Physicians has produced the
following Vision
for Patient Focussed Records
which has been endorsed by the Academy of
Medical Royal Colleges.
The members of the Informatics Group have years of
cumulative expertise and represent the RCGP in various NHS
informatics projects & committees, including the Joint GP
Information Technology Committee (JGPITC) and the National Advisory
Group (NAG).
