The iMAP portfolio is a blank word document that candidates must use as the template for their submission.

Once candidates have received formal notification that their application has been accepted, they should start to prepare the material for their portfolio as detailed in the handbook.

It would be advisable to study the iMAP Criteria carefully and decide on an order for collecting and preparing the material. Evidence for meeting some criteria will be relatively straightforward and simple to assemble, whereas others will require much more preparation and take longer to bring together. Ideally, candidates should structure and timetable the process so that the separate elements are appropriately covered.

As stated in the iMAP Candidate Regulations, the only attachments that will be accepted when submitting a completed portfolio are the feedback from the patient questionnaire (either CARE or SHEFFPAT) and from GP-SPRAT.

Once candidates complete the Portfolio document it must be submitted by email to the iMAP office (imap@rcgp.org.uk). Only electronic portfolios will be accepted. Work submitted as part of the portfolio should not be more than a year old on the date of submission. The iMAP Team will confirm receipt of your portfolio within 4 working days, if you do not hear from us within this timeframe please contact the office.

When submitting your portfolio, please ensure that you also post a cheque made payable to the RCGP for the relevant fee to: RCGP iMAP Office, First Floor, 31 Southampton Row, London, WC1B 5HJ.  Please also print, sign and send the Candidate Declaration (Appendix 3 in the Portfolio template).  Portfolios will not be sent for marking until these items are received.

Candidates are reminded that all portfolio submissions are scanned through Plagiarism detecting software.

Should you have any queries about using this document, please contact the iMAP team by email: imap@rcgp.org.uk.
