iMAP Handbook

The iMAP handbook is designed to provide candidates with details of the requirements and guidelines for each of the 19 criteria for iMAP.

Candidates are advised to refer to the handbook and use it as a guide while completing their portfolio. Candidates should submit evidence for all criteria as indicated in the Handbook.

It would be advisable to study the iMAP Criteria carefully and decide on an order for collecting and preparing the material. Evidence for meeting some criteria will be relatively straightforward and simple to compile, whereas others will require much more preparation and take longer to bring together. Ideally, candidates should structure and timetable the process so that the separate elements are appropriately covered.

Should you have any queries regarding the iMAP Handbook or any of the criteria please contact the iMAP team by email: imap@rcgp.org.uk.

Criteria 12 – Communication Skills (patients) and 14 – Teamwork in Primary Care.

An organisation that had been offering services for providing feedback reports for these criteria, HcAT, ceased operations on 31 August 2009.

The new provider of these tools is called WASP Software Limited. Details of how to register with WASP for these assessments can be found on the FAQS for Criteria 12 & 14 page.

As a result of these changes, the iMAP handbook has been updated to offer guidance on using the services of WASP.

Any expenses or fees incurred are the responsibility of the candidate and are not covered by the iMAP fees.

Please use only the provider whose details have been provided by the iMAP office.
