The Combined Programme
This route to certification is open to
trainees in the UK holding a National Training Number (NTN) who
were:
- given a shortened general practice training programme in
the past and
- want to include non approved posts in their three year
programme (this means posts which were not approved at the time for
general practice training in the UK such as higher specialist
training posts, Clinical Fellow posts and posts held outside the
UK)
Applicants for a CEGPR who want
to use the Combined Programme option should apply to the RCGP
Certification Unit at least six months before their final day of
training. Trainees are guided through the application process and
their documentation is checked before it is passed to the GMC for a
final decision. This is made at the end of the training programme.
Normally trainees who have registered with the College as
applicants for a CEGPR are contacted directly by the Certification
Unit and invited to apply. Trainees may also wish to email the
Certification Unit for more information, forms and guidance. Email
