Aims and Objectives
To promote best practice in the provision of care to patients in secure environments.
To develop, support and encourage the role of doctors providing primary care in secure environments.
To support and encourage the training and professional development needs of GPs who work in this environment, in partnership with RCGP/DH and other appropriate organisations and to support the development of the College’s role in clinical governance in this area.
To support the continuity of care and integration of patients from secure environments on return to the wider community.
To support and encourage the development of an effective evidence base for clinical practice in this environment, and to support research into primary care in secure environments.
To support the professional leadership of this group of doctors in all parts of the United Kingdom.
