Secure Environments Group

Aims and Objectives

• To promote best practice in the provision of care to patients in secure environments.
  
  
• To develop, support and encourage the role of doctors providing primary care in secure environments.
  
  
• To support and encourage the training and professional development needs of GPs who work in this environment, in partnership with RCGP/DH and other appropriate organisations and to support the development of the College’s role in clinical governance in this area.
  
  
• To support the continuity of care and integration of patients from secure environments on return to the wider community.
  
  
• To support and encourage the development of an effective evidence base for clinical practice in this environment, and to support research into primary care in secure environments.
  
  
• To support the professional leadership of this group of doctors in all parts of the United Kingdom.
