Remit
The group has defined its terms of reference and agreed how it
should work. There have been alterations in small areas and changes
in approach, but the basic objectives remain the same:
- To advise Council on issues relating to health inequalities and
to assist in the formation of College policy on these issues
- To seek to ensure that issues relating to health inequalities
are on the agenda of all College working parties
- To develop and disseminate evidence-based information on
aspects of inequalities in health which fall within the capacity of
primary care to influence and to seek to bring such information to
the attention of health professionals, media and government.
