Health Inequalities Standing Group

In May 1998, the Council of the RCGP supported the formation of a Health Inequalities Group, following upon a process by which the Council Executive Committee had identified funding this new initiative as its highest priority in that year’s budget round.

The Health Inequalities Standing Group is keen to develop effective working relationships with people interested in equity of access to primary care, including those in the voluntary sector, health and social services, primary care professions and the general public.  If you would like to contact the group, please send an email to Mat Lawson, the group’s committee officer in the College’s Policy and Governance department.

The group would welcome any comments or suggestions about its work programme and health inequalities in primary care, in general. The group is supported by the Policy and Governance to whom any queries should be addressed.
