Education and Learning

 

Here are a number of resources for training and education that can be used by GPs and other members of the primary care team, either as e-learning modules or as other learning resources.


 

The e-ELCA Programme

The NHS End of Life Care programme, as part of the English Department of Health End of Life Care Strategy, has developed a number of e-learning modules in end of life care that are freely accessible to all NHS and social care professionals:


The NHS End of Life Care Programme

The programme in England has a number of education and training resources on its website related to current guidance and policy. This includes training in communication skills and the advance care planning volunteer training programme.


The Gold Standard Framework Centre for End of Life Care

An overview of GSF and its use in primary care including guidance on QOF palliative care indicators and prognostic indicator guidance. In addition there is new practice based distance learning programme ‘Going for Gold’ that teams can undertake over a 6 month period (involving 4 1 hour meetings on a monthly basis)
