Patient Partnership in Practice
The next meeting of the Patient Group will be taking
place on the 21st August 2008 at the Future Inn Hotel Cardiff
Bay.
The last meeting of the PPP Group took place on the 31st January
2008 at the Future Inn Hotel Cardiff Bay.
The RCGP has for a number of years had an interest in
receiving public input into the development of its policy and
decision-making processes.
The purpose of PPIP is to provide the College in Wales with
access to the patient viewpoint.
The aims of PPIP are to:
1. Develop ideas and lead activities that encourage GPs
to work in partnership more effectively with patients and the
public.
2. Influence activity in Wales which impacts on the
quality of patient care.
3. Work together as a team to ensure that the activities
of the College respond to patient needs.
Opportunities with PPIP
PPIP is a dynamic working group of RCGP Wales which meets to
gather views from the public on the College’s contribution to the
primary care agenda. Membership of PPIP comprises six lay and
2 GP posts. The length of tenure for members is normally 3
years.
Lay members are appointed as individuals and requested to
contribute to the group from the patient’s perspective, rather than
as a representative of an organisation.
