Scottish GP Appraisal Toolkit

The new Scottish GP Appraisal Toolkit is now available on the NHS Education for Scotland (NES) SOAR web site.

This toolkit replaces the original RCGP Scotland Revalidation Toolkit which supported the appraisal process in Scotland since 2003, and was previously available on the RCGP Scotland website. It builds on the original toolkit and suggests a range of educational activities to collect evidence covering the headings of Good Medical Practice for Appraisal. It sits within the context of the RCGP's Revalidation Guidelines and the evidence currently proposed by the RCGP for revalidation over a five year period. This replaces the 'Core Categories'.

It is hoped that by the beginning of April 2010 all Scottish Appraisees will be using the new Toolkit as a reference point for deciding what work to undertake for appraisal and what evidence to present.

The Toolkit is a dynamic document which is planned to be updated on an ongoing basis.
