RCGP Scotland’s Online Self
Assessment Learning Tool for GPs in the UK
Content
What is nPEP?
RCGP Scotland has
redesigned and redeveloped the existing PEP e-Kit online
interactive test into a new self assessment learning tool that
reflects the methodology of the nMRCGP summative examination.
nPEP is predominantly an
Applied Knowledge Test (AKT) aimed mainly at Specialist Registrars
in General Practice (SpR GP). It is also an excellent learning tool
for established GPs in the UK to identify specific educational
needs and can be used as a means of managing Continuing
Professional Development (CPD).
nPEP includes a total of
150 questions/items across all relevant RCGP Curriculum Statements.
Each clinical topic has between 6 to 10 questions/items written by
GPs working in clinical practice. Most scenarios therefore, reflect
real clinical events encountered in one’s surgery.
All questions/items have
associated supporting material. This includes book and online
linked references combined with relevant feedback provided by the
writers. Both the referencing and feedback are updated every 6
months.
nPEP contains the same
four question/item types used in the nMRCGP exam and in similar
proportions.
- Single Best Answer (SBA)
- Multi Best Answer (MBA)
- Extended Matching Question (EMQ)
- Algorithm Question (ALG)
A report is automatically
generated at the end of the test with your overall and
subject-specific score. You will also be able to go back to
individual questions and review all reference material to support
you in your self learning revision work.
