Meeting Rooms

The premises at number 25 Queen Street, Edinburgh, provide an excellent  venue for a range of different meetings. There are three elegant rooms, each with their own ambience and with the capacity to seat up to 30 people in sophisticated surroundings.

Our rooms are available to the public looking for a meeting venue in Edinburgh, as well as RCGP meetings. Rooms can be booked in advance, and most requirements can be catered for.

If our premises are not available we may be able to help in helping to identify another venue for you - please ask for our assistance. We will help if we can.

Although we have offices in Dundee, Aberdeen, Inverness and Glasgow we do not have meeting rooms immediately available at these venues.

About 25 Queen Street

Queen Street
25 Queen Street is a mid terraced Georgian townhouse dating from the late eighteenth century and is A listed in terms of architecture and importance, with all the attendant attractions (and restrictions).

Purchased by the College on 22nd July 1999, the building was officially opened by Susan Deacon, the Scottish Health Minister in September of that year, at an evening reception.

Located in the heart of Edinburgh's central district, known as the "Golden Rectangle", its position has an attractive aspect overlooking Queen Street Gardens. There is excellent access to the main railway system and good public service links to the airport.

The Library
Decorated with pine bookcases and a large mirror this is a great meeting room rather than a working library.  Located on the first floor, this room can accommodate up to 12 people in the same comfortable armed chairs and maple tables.

Facilities

Equipment

The College has the following equipment available for use in the meeting rooms (requirements need to be stated at time of booking):

  • Flipchart stand, pad and pens
  • OHP projector, stand and screen
  • Power Point projector, stand and screen
  • Laptop
In addition, monitors, video, slide projectors and screens can be made available at additional cost.
The College now has Video Conferencing available at a charge.

Facilities

Toilets are available on the lower ground and the second floor of the building.

For half-day meetings, where lunch is not required, coffee and tea are served in the room that is booked for the meeting. For full day meetings, or where lunch is being served a separate room is used.

The cost of these rooms is built in to the charges for the main meeting room. We have the option of a number of breakout rooms within the building.

Wheelchair Access

Regrettably due to severe planning restrictions to conserve the original fabric of the building, it has not been possible to introduce wheelchair access or the necessary toilet facilities.

Catering

Tea, coffee and biscuits can be provided for any meeting, on request. Quality crockery is used for the service. Tea and coffee are provided in individual sachets for freshness with hot water supplied in flasks, so that meeting times can remain flexible. A packet of quality biscuits is provided for each delegate.

The Business Services department would be happy to arrange catering for lunch (or dinner) to meet your requirements. This is provided, to your specification, by outside caterers. Jugs of orange juice are provided with lunch and the meeting rooms have water coolers.
