Working With Patients

The College in Scotland is able to interact with patients and the public through its patient group: Patient Partnership in Practice (P³). This group meets up to five times a year to discuss issues being addressed by the College, as well as a number of other issues of particular relevance to patient involvement or standards of patient care. In addition, members of P³ frequently contribute to College projects and initiatives and various consultation exercises that the College is involved in, as well as progressing patient issues through the media and Scottish Parliament.

P³ is composed of ten lay members and three general practitioner members. Its (lay) Chair acts as an observer at RCGP Scotland Council meetings to ensure that relevant issues are discussed by these groups. The Chair is supported by a Vice-Chair.
