Becoming a Member

In order to be a member of the College, general practitioners either have to pass the MRCGP exam or will undertake Membership by Assessment of Performance (MAP).

Membership is about both the attainment of the MRCGP Examination and the payment of the appropriate subscription. Details of current subscription rates available from the membership office

'Members in Good Standing' are members that fit into the above category on a continual basis.

The development of the College in Scotland provides even greater opportunities for Scottish GPs to become active members of the College and to benefit from a College working closely with the Scottish Parliament in a devolved Scotland.

Members who may have lapsed their subscription in the past are particularly welcome to re-join the College and further details on this are available by contacting the Membership Support Department. Tel: 020 7589 8710 or e-mail membership@rcgp.org.uk for further information.
