About Us
The West of Scotland Faculty aims to take forward ideas and
issues that will promote the highest standards in patient care and
will enhance and celebrate the discipline of general practice and,
in partnership with others, promote Scottish Primary Care. Our
annual report is available under Annual Report.
The work of the faculty is led by our faculty board, which is
comprised of local members. The board meets four times a year and
is represented on the College’s main Councils at Scottish and UK
levels. The faculty board discusses a wide range of local and
national issues and through its representatives on Scottish and UK
Council seeks to influence policy across the UK with the objective
of promoting standards of excellence in patient care .

Our key activities include running educational events,
providing opportunities for networking and organising awards and
