The Patient Award - GP of the Year

Aim of the Award

The award will recognise outstanding achievement of quality patient care.

 

Eligibility

The award will be given a GP in Scotland who has provided excellence in and/or substantial contribution to patient care as nominated by a patient or former patient.

Process

Selection will be by nomination form submitted by the patient to RCGP Scotland. A panel of judges drawn from lay members and Officers of RCGP Devolved Councils will review and approve the nominations and select a winning entry.

Criteria

The award will be adjudicated by the Scottish Council. If appropriate, more than one award can be given yearly as determined by the Scottish Council.

Presentation

The award is presented at an annual awards event hosted by RCGP Scotland.
